Use the following scale to choose the most appropriate number for each situation:

Total Epworth Score:

The Epworth Sleepiness Scale can help determine if an individual who snores suffers from OSA. It was developed through extensive sleep research.  If you score 11 or higher, a sleep study is recommended.

Each of the eight situations is scored from 0 to 3.  The total of these figures is the final score.  According to research, snorers who show no significant obstructive sleep apnea had an average score of 6.5.  Those with OSA scored an average greater than 10.
